New York photographer Ronit Krushka flies to London after learning about the death of her estranged father. Ronit is returning to the same Orthodox Jewish community that shunned her decades earlier for her childhood attraction to Esti, a female friend. Set in North\u00a0London<\/a>, it tells the story of a woman who returns to the strict\u00a0Orthodox Jewish<\/a>\u00a0community for her father’s funeral after living in New York for many years, having been estranged from her father and ostracised by the community for a reason that becomes clearer as the story unfolds. Disobedience<\/i>\u00a0had its world premiere at the\u00a0Toronto International Film Festival<\/a>\u00a0on 10 September 2017.
