15 year-old Alejandro Duran, who comes from a religious Latino family, aspires to one day be a Catholic priest. But when Alex discovers a mysterious box he unwittingly unleashes a demonic spirit bent on possessing him. Alex must find a way to defeat this ancient demon, which has been tormenting children since the dawn of man, before it destroys him and everyone he loves. On the surface Devil’s Whisper is a supernatural horror film about demonic possession but at its core it’s a psychological thriller about repressed memories, childhood trauma and the cycle of abuse.<\/p>\n

Director Adam Ripp brings the act of malevolence to a whole new level in his latest film,\u00a0Devil\u2019s Whisper<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 however, the notion that the \u201csatanic possession\u201d trope has been breached a billion times couldn\u2019t be more prevalent, and although the movie has its moments, aside from an outstanding performance from its lead actor, there isn\u2019t much left to set this one aside from so many before it.<\/p>\n

The family dynamic is under the spotlight with this darkly constructed presentation \u2013 at the head of the table here is Alex (Oriel), a teenager who has decided his future resides within the church as a priest, and he\u2019s surrounded by his father (Ferraez), mother (Santiago), and younger sister (Alison Fernandez).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
